Slow Cooker Acorn Squash

FROM - "Slow Cooking for Crock Enthusiasts" INGREDIENTS
3 squash, cut in half and seeded
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup water
6 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 slices bacon, dicedSeason squash with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with other ingredients. Pour water into cooker.
Add squash, alternating so they do not rest directly on top of each other. Cook on HIGH for 1 hour. Reduce to low and cook for an additional 5 to 6 hours.
