Butter-Steamed Kohlrabi and Mushrooms

INGREDIENTS

2 medium-size kohlrabi
3-1/2 teaspoons water
1/4 pound mushrooms, sliced
1-1/2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves
Grated Parmesan cheese

Peel and thinly slice kohlrabi; should be about 1-1/2 cups. Melt butter in skillet over high heat. Add kohlrabi; cook 1 minute. Add water and basil; cover and cook 4 minutes. Add mushrooms, cover and cook; stirring often until kohlrabi is tender, about 4 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper; sprinkle with cheese.
