Braised Red Cabbage

INGREDIENTS

1 large head red cabbage, coarsely shredded, about 10 cups
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Heat all ingredients to boiling in Dutch oven, stirring occasionally; reduce heat. Cover and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes.

Makes 6 servings
