Brussels Sprouts With Water Chestnuts

INGREDIENTS

1 quart Brussels sprouts, or 2 packages frozen Brussels sprouts
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 (6-ounce) can water chestnuts, thinly sliced, or 1/2 pound roasted chestnuts 2 tablespoons butter, or to taste

Boil sprouts in the boiling salted water for about 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain.

Cook the water chestnuts, sliced, in water drained from sprouts. Cook, covered, for 5 minutes, drain.

Toss the sprouts and waterchestnuts together with 2 tablespoons butter, or to taste.

Makes 8 servings

NOTE - To use roasted chestnuts: - Peel and cook in boiling, salted water to cover for 20 minutes. Slice before using as above.
