Broccoli and Macaroni

INGREDIENTS

2 large broccoli heads
6 ounces elbow macaroni
Several garlic cloves, sliced
12 slices bacon
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese, fresh (or to taste)

Chop broccoli into small pieces and cook in a large pot of salted water until done (NOT CRISP TENDER!). Reserve broccoli and cook macaroni in same water.

Sauté garlic slices in equal parts of vegetable and olive oil (as needed) until garlic is golden; discard garlic. Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces; sauté in oil in 2 batches and reserve. Cook onion in drippings, add to bacon.

Combine all ingredients and serve warm. (Broccoli with fall apart a little bit).
