Oven-Barbecued Ribs

INGREDIENTS 4 pounds pork spare ribs
1 cup catsup
1/3 cup vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
½ lemon, thinly slicedIn Dutch oven, add salted water to the ribs to cover. Cover pan; simmer until almost tender, about 1 hour. Drain ribs; place in a shallow baking pan.
In saucepan combine 1 cup water, ½ teaspoon salt, catsup, and next 6 ingredients. Bring to boiling. Cook and stir for 5 minutes; add onion and lemon. Cool. Spoon over ribs.
NOTE - At this point, the ribs can be covered and chilled for up to 24 hours.
Before serving; bake ribs, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 45 minutes; baste often.
