Apple and Raisin Pie

INGREDIENTS

4 cups sliced apples
1 cup water
1-1/2 teaspoons flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup seedless raisins
1 recipe Plain Pastry
2 tablespoons butter

Cook apples in water, covered, for 5 minutes; cool.

Sift flour, sugar, and cinnamon into raisins and add apples.

Line pie pan with pastry, pour in filling, dot with butter and place strips of pastry over top in lattice design. Bake in a very hot, 450 degree oven, for 10 minutes; reduce temperature to moderate, 350 degrees, and bake 40 minutes or longer or until fruit is tender.

Makes 1 (9-inch) pie
