Fettuccine with Fresh Tomatoes and Basil Sauce

INGREDIENTS

4 large ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 bunch fresh basil, stems removed and leaves coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt
Pepper
1 pound fettuccine, cooked following label directions and drained
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Combine the tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste, in a large bowl. Stir to mix well.

Serve over the hot, freshly cooked fettuccine in a warmed serving bowl.

Pass the Parmesan cheese and pepper, if you wish.
