Barbecue Sauce

INGREDIENTS

1/2 pound butter
2-1/2 cups water
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
1/2 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard

Place all of the ingredients in a nonreactive saucepan. Stirring frequently, bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 1/2 hour.

Makes about 4 cups

NOTE - In a tightly covered container, the sauce will keep in the refrigerator for about 1 month.
