Cornmeal Drop Biscuits

INGREDIENTS 1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cold butter
2 tablespoons canned green chilies, chopped
2 tablespoons canned pimiento peppers, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milkIn a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cormeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Add the chilies and pimientos.
Stir in the beaten egg and milk, just until combined.
Drop by large spoonfuls, about 2 tablespoons each, onto an oiled baking sheet. Bake the biscuits in a 450 degree oven for 13 to 15 minutes.
Makes 12 biscuits
