Fruit Cobbler

Blueberries, peaches, cherries, or raspberries all work well in this cobbler.
INGREDIENTS
1-1/4 cups flour, sifted
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons shortening, melted
1-3/4 cups fruit of choice
2 cups hot water or fruit juice
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butterSift flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 cup sugar together. Add milk and shortening and stir only until smooth.
Spread dough evenly in a greased shallow pan, about 12 x 8-inches. Arrange fruit over top.
Combine hot water or juice, 3/4 cup sugar, and butter in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over fruit.
Bake immediately at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm.
