Fudge Brownie Pie

INGREDIENTS Pastry for 1 (9-inch) pie crust, homemade or store-bought
2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, as a garnishRoll out the pastry and line a 9-inch pie pan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium saucepan over very low heat warm the chocolate chips and butter until both are just melted. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, corn syrup, vanilla, eggs, and salt. Beat with an electric mixer until well blended. Stir in 1 cup chopped walnuts.
Pour into the prepared pie shell. Bake the pie at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes or until puffed. Serve warm or at room temperature topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of chopped walnuts.
