Pound Cake with Strawberry-Banana Topping

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup light rum
3 medium bananas, sliced
6 fresh strawberries, cut in half
Commercial pound cake

Melt butter in a skillet. Add sugar, lemon juice, and rum; stir well. Cook until sugar dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add bananas and strawberries, and cook until bananas are soft but not mushy, about 2 minutes. Serve over pound cake.

Makes 4 servings

NOTE - Strawberry-Banana Topping may be served over vanilla ice cream instead of pound cake, if desired.
