Turkey Casserole

1-¼ HOURS COOKING TIME

INGREDIENTS

1 cup elbow macaroni
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup chopped green pepper
¼ cup butter
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon dried marjoram leaves, crushed
Dash of pepper
1 cup milk
1 cup chicken broth 3 ounces Process American Cheese, shredded (3/4 cup)
1-½ cups chopped, cooked turkey

ADVANCED PREPARATION

Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water until almost tender; drain; rinse.

In saucepan cook onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Blend in flour, salt, marjoram, and pepper. Add milk and chicken broth. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add shredded cheese, and stir to melt. Fold in macaroni and cooked turkey. Turn into a 1-½ quart baking dish, cover; freeze.

BEFORE SERVING

Bake frozen casserole, uncovered, at 400 degrees until heated through, 70 minutes, stir occasionally. Top with 1 ounce shredded cheese(1/4 cup); bake 3 to 4 minutes longer.
