5 MINUTES FINAL PREPARATION

INGREDIENTS

¾ cup sugar
½ cup butter or margarine
1-½ teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
2/3 cup sifted all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1  (1-ounce) square unsweetened chocolate, melted
Vanilla ice cream
Fudge Sauce

ADVANCED PREPARATION

Cream sugar with butter; add vanilla. Add eggs, beating just until blended.

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture.

Spoon half the batter into another bowl; stir chocolate into remaining batter.

Drop chocolate batter, checkerboard fashion, from tablespoon in greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan. Fill in spaces with light mixture. Zigzag batter with spatula to marble. DO NOT OVERMIX.

Bake at 350 degrees until done, 25 to 30 minutes; cool. Wrap; freeze.

BEFORE SERVING

Thaw cake; cut into squares. Top each square with a scoop of vanilla ice cream; drizzle with fudge sauce.
