Italian Roast Beef 2

INGREDIENTS

4 pound beef roast
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons dried basil OR 1/2 cup fresh basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 large can Italian tomatoes with basil
1 onion, chopped
750 ml Italian Red Wine

Cut slits in the roast and insert pieces of garlic and onions; brown roast over medium-high heat. Add remaining ingredients and enough water to cover; cook 3 to 4 hours or until tender, covered, over low heat. Reduce sauce to 2 cups.
