Doughnut Maker Doughnuts

This recipe is from about the 1950's, and was used with a "drop" donut maker.
INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups sweet milk and 2 teaspoons vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/6 cup oil
4 to 5 cups flourMix ingredients in order given. Spoon into doughnut maker and fry in hot shortening, turning once. Drain on paper towels. Cool before storing.
Makes about 3 dozen
