Cocktail Meatballs and Sauce

INGREDIENTS

MEATBALLS

1 cup soda crackers
2 to 3 pounds ground lean beef
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup dried parsley flakes
2 tablespoons diced onions
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1 egg, optional

SAUCE

1 (1-pound) can cranberry sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
4 to 5 ounces cherry preserves
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Soak crackers in warm water to soften and drain thoroughly. In large bowl combine meat, crackers and remaining meatball ingredients. From into walnut-sized meatballs and set aside.

Place all ingredients for sauce in large saucepot and blend well. Cook until smooth, then add meatballs. Cook over medium heat 4 to 6 hours.
