Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons sour cream
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup mashed ripe bananas, about 2
Grated rind of 1 orange
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon mace or nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

Cream butter and sugar until very light. Add sour cream. Stir eggs into creamed mixture. Add orange rind.

Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with the mashed bananas. Fold in nuts.

Pour into prepared pan and bake 50 to 60 minutes or until tester comes out dry. Allow to cool; wrap in foil. Best used the next day.
