(Red, White and Green Garlic Bread)

2 large loaves Italian bread
1 cup soft butter
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon fresh parsley
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Dash red pepper, optional
3 tablespoons pimento, choppedThoroughly blend all ingredients into butter. Cut bread into 1-inch slices and spread butter mixture on one side.
Broil, butter side up, about 4 inches from flame until golden brown. Serve hot. Turn slices briefly if crisper toast is preferred.
