INGREDIENTS

2 sticks butter, softened
1-½ cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3-½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.

Sift together dry ingredients.

Add to butter and egg mixture, blending well. Stir in chopped pecans. Shape into small rolls and freeze until firm enough to slice.

Bake at 350 degrees 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
