Cranberry Fruit Nut Bread

INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
1 large egg, beaten
3/4 cup orange juice
1 cup chopped cranberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamonPreheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Combine peel, juice, and egg. Add to dry ingredients, mixing just enough to moisten. Fold in cranberries and nuts.
Turn batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 60 minutes. Cool completely, wrap, and store overnight before slicing.
