Mashed Turnips

INGREDIENTS

7 turnips
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Peel, wash, and quarter turnips. In a saucepan, in lightly salted water, boil turnips 35 to 45 minutes or until tender. Strain and rinse cooked turnips.

Place in a large mixing bowl and use a fork to break up turnips into smaller bits. Add milk and butter. Blend to desired consistency. Add salt and pepper, to taste.

Makes 8 to 10 servings
