Emperor's Frosting

INGREDIENTS

1 recipe Seven-Minute Frosting
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted until very light brown

Prepare 1 recipe of Seven-Minute Frosting. Cool.

Beat 1 cup of heavy cream. Flavor with 1 tablespoon vanilla and continue to beat until quite stiff. Fold the cream into the cooled Seven-Minute Frosting and blend thoroughly.

Spread this frosting between the layers of any favorite cake, over the top, and down on the sides. Cover the top and sides of the cake with 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted until a very light brown.

NOTE: This recipe makes a very delicious and rather elaborate frosting and turns an ordinary cake recipe into an extremely glamorous dessert. If there is any left over, the cake must be kept in the refrigerator, not at room temperature.
