Sinangag (Filipino Fried Rice)

INGREDIENTS

1 cup cooked rice
1 small onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
1/2 cup peas, frozen
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oil

Heat oil in wok or skillet. Add garlic and sauté until light brown. Add onions and ginger. Fry until onions are translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add the peas and fry about 2 more minutes.

Add the rice, salt, and pepper. Fry for another 3 to 4 minutes. Add soy sauce to color the rice.

Makes 4 servings

NOTE - You can also add scrambled eggs, or you can substitute celery, green peppers, or other vegetables for the peas.
