INGREDIENTS

4-ounces pork, cut into strips
1/2 cup water
1 garlic clove, minced
1 small onion, sliced
1 medium tomato, chopped
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
4-ounces shrimp, peeled
3/4 cups chicken stock
2 cups green beans, julienned

Simmer pork with 1/2 cup of water in a skillet over medium heat until all the water evaporates and only some pork fat remains. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove the pork and set aside.

To the skillet add the garlic and onion, stirring until the onion is soft. Add tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp, and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add the stock, and let it come to a boil. Add the green beans and cook, uncovered, for 7 minutes or until the beans are done. Stir occasionally. Serve hot.
