Hot Spices Apricots

INGREDIENTS

1 box (11-ounce) dried apricots
1 lemon, sliced
1 stick cinnamon
3 whole allspice
6 tablespoons maple syrup
Water for cooking

Place all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan. Add enough water to make a depth of about 1/2-inch in the pan. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes. Add more water as needed. Serve hot as a dessert or as a spread for Squaw Bread.
