INGREDIENTS 1 (16-ounce) can garbanzo beans
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons tahini
2 cloves garlic, minced
Pinch of cumin
Salt
2 pieces Pita (pocket bread), cut into rounds, squares or triangles and toasted
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon chopped parsleyIn a blender, combine beans, lemon juice, tahini, garlic and cumin. Mix well. Add salt to taste.
Serve on toasted pita slices. Dribble with oil and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
NOTE - This is a very common appetizer in the Middle East.
