Fettuccine All' Alfredo

INGREDIENTS

1/2 pound fettuccine noodles
4 tablespoons butter
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper

Cook fettuccine in 2-1/2 to 3 quarts of boiling water to al dente (when the pasta is done but has a bit of firmness to it.) Drain.

Heat the butter and cream in a pan large enough to hold the pasta. Add the pasta to the pan and heat thoroughly.

Add the cheese and toss gently, being careful not to break the pasta.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

NOTE - This dish is good with a lot of pepper. If you have used salted butter, be careful with the salt in the last step.
