Apple Casserole

INGREDIENTS

4 large cooking apples
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream, for topping
Whipped cream, for topping
1 to 2 tablespoons rum, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 8 x 11-inch greased casserole dish.

Peel, core, and quarter apples. Place in prepared casserole. Cream butter and add sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Beat mixture well. Spoon over apples and bake for 1 hour.

Top off with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream flavored with rum, if desired.

Makes 3 to 4 servings
