That old saying about saving the best for last is certainly true when you talk about the dessert course of a meal. While most everyone will enjoy marinated tenderloin or a well-seasoned potato dish, the bulk of the praise usually goes to the last course. A really good dessert is probably the most anticipated part of the menu. Being from the South originally, I can tell you that Southerners take their desserts very seriously. That may not be one of our healthiest habits, but it's certainly one of the most pleasurable!!
