Turkey Cupcakes

INGREDIENTS

1 package (2-layer size) cake mix (any flavor), plus ingredients to prepare mix
1 container (16-ounces) chocolate frosting
3/4 cup marshmallow creme
24 shortbread ring cookies
48 small red candies
Decorations: - candy corn, assorted candies 24 regular-size (2-1/2 inch) paper muffin cup liners

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 24 muffin cups with paper muffin cup liners.

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon batter into prepared muffin pans.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes. Remove to racks; cool completely.

Combine frosting and marshmallow creme in medium bowl; mix well. Frost cupcakes with frosting mixture; reserve remaining frosting mixture.

Cut cookies in half. Cut half of them in half again to form quarters.

For each cupcake, place larger cookie piece cut-side down on back edge of cupcake for tail. Place 1 of the 2 smaller cookie pieces cut-side down on opposite side of cupcake for head; discard remaining smaller cookie piece or reserve for another use. Frost cookies with remaining frosting mixture so they blend in with cupcake.

Position candies on heads for eyes. Decorate tops of tails with candies as desired.
