Hershey's® Kiss Peanut Butter Cookies

INGREDIENTS 1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1-1/2 cups Crisco shortening
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
36 Hershey Kisses or extra large chocolate chipsCream together sugars, shortening, and peanut butter. Stir in eggs.
Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and work together until thoroughly blended.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar to coat. Place balls on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 9 to 10 minutes, until they spread out and just begin to brown.
Remove cookies from oven and press a Hershey's kiss gently into the center of each cookie. Return to oven and bake for another 2 to 5 minutes.
Allow cookies to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
Makes 3 dozen.
NOTE - You can replace the Hershey's Kisses with extra large chocolate chips.
