Gingery Snaps

Sharp yet sweet, these cookies remind me of Gram's kitchen on holidays.

INGREDIENTS

3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons light molasses
1 large egg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
2 teaspoons baking soda
Additional sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl. Add the molasses, egg and spices. Add the flour and baking soda, mixing well.

From the batter into small balls about 1-inch in diameter. Roll the balls in sugar and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
