German Spritz Cookies

INGREDIENTS 1 cup butter, room temperature
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 egg whites
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Pinch of saltPreheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease cookies sheets or line with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and egg whites, beat well. Gently stir in flour and salt.
Transfer the batter to a large pastry bag or cookie press, fitted with a large star tip. Pipe batter into rings or squiggles onto cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
