This unusual cookie has a distinctive orange flavor.
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
Grated rind of 1 orange
1 large egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Additional sugarPreheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in the orange juice and rind. Add the egg, mixing well.
Combine the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl. Stir into the creamed mixture.
Place dough on a floured board. Roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Place cut shapes on a baking sheet. Top with sprinkles of sugar. Bake for 12 minutes.
