Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulate sugar
1-1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts, optional
1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips, 2 cups

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat butter, vanilla, sugars, and eggs in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed. Stir in flour, salt, and baking soda. A stiff dough will form.

Stir in chocolate chips, and nuts if using.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart.

Bake about 10 to 12 minutes. Cool 1 to 2 minutes then finish cooling on wire rack.
