Cream Cheese Squares

INGREDIENTS

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1 large egg
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the flour, brown sugar and butter in a medium bowl. Stir in the pecans. Remove 1 cup of the mixture; set aside. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of an 8 x 8-inch pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Combine the cream cheese, egg, granulated sugar, milk, lemon juice and vanilla in a medium bowl. Pour on top of the baked crust. Crumble reserved flour mixture over top.

Bake an additional 25 minutes. Remove from the oven. Cool on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
