Black Walnut Cookies

INGREDIENTS

½ cup butter, softened
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup sour cream
½ to 1 cup chopped black walnuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in nuts.

Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Press flat with bottom of drinking glass, dipping glass into sugar before pressing each cookie.

Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. Cool cookies on rack.

Makes about 4 dozen
