Broccoli-Chicken Casserole

INGREDIENTS

1 (4-pound) chicken, or 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
2 packages frozen broccoli
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1-1/4 cups Parmesan cheese

Simmer chicken 1-1/2 to 2 hours (for whole chicken). Remove and let cool, then slice and refrigerate.

One hour before preparing, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a casserole dish.

Cook broccoli and place in casseole. In a double boiler, add milk, cream cheese, garlic salt and salt. Stir until smooth, then add 1 cup Parmesan cheese.

Pour 1/2 of the mixture over the broccoli, top with the chicken, then add the remaining mixture and top with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove and let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
