Chocolate Brownies

INGREDIENTS

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 squares chocolate or 2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup flour
1 cup nuts, optional

Melt shortening and chocolate in saucepan. Add remaining ingredients and stir.

Put in greased 8 x8 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes.

NOTE -  Can be doubled and put in 9 x 13 inch pan.
