Make Ahead Punch

Make this delicious citrusy punch for either the kids or the adults, depending on whether you use the ginger ale.

INGREDIENTS

1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup lemon juice
4 cups orange juice
2 cups brandy OR 2 cups rum OR 1 bottle (28-ounces) ginger ale

Combine the sugar and lemon juice in a medium-size saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Cool to room temperature. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.

To serve, combine the chilled sugar syrup, orange juice and either brandy, rum or ginger ale in a large punch bowl. Serve over ice.
