Chocolate Syrup

This recipe is from The Silent Hostess Treasure Book by General Electric - 1931.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup water
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla

Cook cocoa and water together over direct heat; stirring until smooth. Add sugar and salt and continue stirring until they are dissolved. Boil three minutes; add vanilla. Pour into a pint jar. Seal with a rubber ring and keep in refrigerator Cabinet. After each using replace rubber and cover and seal tightly. Keeping air-tight prevents sugaring.
