Dark Caramel Beer Sauce

Serve this dessert sauce warm on unfrosted caked, steamed pudding, custard, or ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 can or bottle (12 ounces) beer
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a saucepan, mix brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir in beer. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.

Add butter and vanilla extract. Stir until melted. Serve warm.

Makes about 1-1/3 cups
