Czech Beer Soup (Pivni Polevka)

A thin soup that tastes like a hot beer nog.
INGREDIENTS
1 can or bottle (12-ounces) beer
1-1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup half-and-half creamIn a saucepan, combine beer, water, sugar, butter, and salt. Heat just to boiling.
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored; beat in half-and-half. Add some of hot mixture; pour back into saucepan. Heat, stirring constantly, for a few minutes. DO NOT BOIL. Serve in soup cups.
Makes 3 to 4 servings
