Cheddar Spritz Sticks

INGREDIENTS

12 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, finely shredded
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup beer
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt

Blend cheese and butter until smooth; let stand 30 minutes for flavors to blend.

Blend in beer and Worcestershire sauce.

Combine flour, dry mustard, and salt; work into beer-cheese mixture.

Fill a cookie press two-thirds full of dough. Using disk which forms bars, press dough onto cookie sheets in 7-inch lengths. Or, fill a pastry bag and use a plain tube to make strips; press to flatten slightly.

Bake at 400 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes, or until delicately browned on edges.
