Beer Bread Pudding

INGREDIENTS

1-1/2 cups milk
1 can or bottle (12 ounces) beer
3 eggs
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups dry bread cubes (6 slices)

Scald milk and beer.

Beat eggs with brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add scalded milk and beer gradually while stirring. Add bread.

Turn into a greased 1-1/2 to 2-quart casserole. Set in a pan of boiling water.

Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve hot or cold.
