INGREDIENTS

1 small round loaf of bread, (about 8 inches in diameter)
1 tablespoon Dijon style mustard
1/2 jar processed sharp cheddar cheese spread (5-ounce jar)
1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, grated
1 apple, cored and sliced
Fresh herbs, optional
Small chili peppers, optional

Cut loaf of bread in half horizontally. Wrap one half and use for another purpose. Hollow out the other half, leaving a 1/2 inch shell.

Spread mustard over inside of loaf. Spread cheese spread in the bottom of the loaf. Sprinkle the cheese spread with Parmesan cheese.

Place on a baking sheet and bake in a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese begins to bubble.

Cut the appetizer into 12 wedges.

Place hot bread on a serving plate. Arrange apple slices around the bread. Garnish with fresh herbs and/or small chili peppers, if you like.
