Apple Butter

INGREDIENTS

16 cups fresh applesauce*
3 pounds brown sugar
1 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup crushed pineapples

*Prepare fresh applesauce using 7 large apples, peeled and cored, 2 cups water and boil until apples are well done; push through a sieve.

Combine all ingredients and bake in a 350 degree oven for 3 hours. Stir every 20 minutes or so. Pour into jars and seal. Great on toast!

Makes 5 quarts
